The STEM Society was established to provide leadership opportunities beyond the classroom for students in the STEM Academy at Greene Central High School. The "STEM Ambassadors" are the core group of students that create opportunities for all students in the STEM Society by working with community leaders, community events, hosting summer camps, planning college tours, hosting community appreciation events, and supporting academic acknowledgement of their peers.
The STEM Society has collaborated often with local and regional organizations to assist with various community service projects or events. Students that serve as STEM Ambassadors receive community service hours for their commitment.
1. To implement a S.T.E.M. awareness campaign with a focus on S.T.E.M. careers, pursuit of advance degrees, Business/Industry tours, and development of student leadership.
2. To develop a community service partnership with the local, regional, or national organizations.
3. To develop a S.T.E.M. showcase for local schools and support a district STEM Expo.
4. To provide students the opportunity to get practical experience with 21st Century Skills by coordinating STEM program events.
